Terms of Engagement

 1. Indian Golf Society UK is for golfers of Indian origin who are resident in UK. Or

      any golfer of UK ,recommended by two members ,and approved by committee.


2. The members of the committee are Secretary (Muddu), Treasurer (Sujay) and members (Ashok, Jeyam, Vivek) The office bearers would be in post for two years.


3. Annual membership is £20. Annual membership,1 Jan to 31 Dec, from next year need to be  paid directly into bank account. In addition you will be asked to pay for taking part in each of the competition.


4. We would play three competitions, spring, summer and autumn of each year. The format of each competition  will be informed prior to the event. The cost of the competitions would be green fee + catering + fee for prizes. Monies left over if no one wins hole in one or two’s competition would be donated to charity after adjusting the society's account deficit.


5. The IGS trophy (rolling) would be awarded for the winner of the annual IGS tournament held in the last competition of each year (usually the autumn competition). Additional prizes will be given for usual winners such as hole in one, longest drive, individual winner etc, for each competition. If there are enough children under the age of 18 then a junior competition is something we would consider.


6. The committee does not bear responsibility for golfers action on and off the course.


7. It is the responsibility of each golfer to take golf insurance.


8. Non-members are invited to play although may not take part in competition. Guests would only pay for green fees and catering.


9. The teams for each competition would be picked in a fair way. 


10. The committee will not be responsible for any cancellation of play due to inclement weather when loss of tournament fee is inevitable.  Money will only be refunded if you cannot attend due to unavoidable circumstances, provided that society has not paid money to the club where the match is held.


11. There will be regular review of handicap and it would be adjusted according to performance. 


12. New members are welcome.


13. The committee would change every two years. 


14. Golf etiquette must be followed at all times. 


15. The rules of R&A will be followed during the course of play.


16. Name of the Charity for which the funds to be donated will be decided by the committee. and a member cannot send any request to other members by email without consent of committee


17. Guests are allowed (one guest per member) but on first come first basis


18. Any non paid member wishes to play in the tournament  his total fee will be Tournament fee plus Annual fee of £20 for that year.
