32 participants took part in the competition at Mere Golf Club, Knutsford on a bright autumn Sunday. Everybody assembled in the George Duncan Suite and met with fellow golfers over a hot cup of coffee and baps.
Mr Muddu welcomed new members: Mr F Engineer, former Indian Cricketer, Mr Bhim Ruia, Ruia Company - Glen Muir, Mr Nari Hira - Hira Company, Mr Trevor Pathak - Captain of High Legh Park Golf Club, Dr Satish Babu Ramakrishna - Nephrologist, Mr Marcus de Matas - Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr Naresh Sandur - Anaesthetist, Mr J Ruia - Ruia Company, Mr B Koppada - Rtd GP, Mr Shiva Shankar Appaswamy - Ophthalmologist, and, Mr Jagadish Prabhu - Orthodontist.
After briefing of the competition by Mr Jeyam, scoring cards were handed out to players by Dr Ashok Ullegaddi.
Everyone reassembled in the George Duncan Suite for a drink at the bar while the cards were scored. This was followed by a delicious 2-course dinner during which the prize distribution was carried out.
Mr Farokh Engineer presented the prizes to the winners: The IGS UK Champion Golfer of the Year was Mr Anirvan Banerjee who was presented with the Annual Rolling Trophy.
Mr Farokh Engineer then spoke about a charity that he supports for homeless children in Mumbai, India. He auctioned a cricket bat signed by present and past cricketing legends such as Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Freddie Flintoff, Gordon Greenidge, Clive Lloyd, Michael Holding, Farokh Engineer, Jasprit Bumrah etc. The cricket bat was presented to the highest bidder (£450) - Dr Ashok Malaya. Mr Engineer also gave away his signed biography, Farokh - The Cricketing Cavalier by Colin Evans, for £10 each. The money raised from the bat and the books will be donated by Mr Engineer to the charity back in India.
